Jamie has spent 48 TU researching Argossean Purple Dye, she finds.
The Purple Dye is a MW item. It can be used as a material component to make: Cloak of Charisma
This lightweight and fashionable cloak has a highly decorative silver trim. When in a character’s possession, it adds a +2, +4, or +6 enhancement bonus to her Charisma score.
Moderate transmutation; CL 8th; Craft Wondrous Item, eagle’s splendor; Price 4,000 gp (+2), 16,000 gp (+4), 36,000 gp (+6); Weight 2 lb.
The Dye can also be used to color spells, from Acid Fog to Webb.
The Dye is attuned to the Enchantment School of Magic. When the Dye is used as an additional material component for any Enchantment Spell, the spell works with an additional +2 for means of someone to resist your enchantments.
Argos is a nation of paramount seafarers, with cosmopolitan cities along the coast. Its capital, Messantia, lay on the coast at the estuary of the Khorotas River. The most fertile region in Argos is the Khorotas River valley. The valley is filled with fruit orchards, farms, and oak forests where Argos' shipbuilding industry gets its wood. Messantia has three docks, the Royal Docks, the Argossean Docks and the common docks. The first two are for Argosseans only, but the third is where all visitors except emissaries come to Argos.
The Common Docks are huge, and many races can be found on them, from Seafaring Elves and Orcs, to Lizardmen and Kuo-To fishmen, and many, many more.
The middle isles are culturally rather backward. Along with ghoul-haunted forests; south of these isles heavily laden with orchards and croplands.
The Argossean people were an amalgam of Zingaran and Shemite races; and ancient Atlantian blood. They are the best sailors in the world -- according to everyone but the mariners of Zingara!
Argos was anciently a part of Atlantis. It may have been the third of the Hyborian kingdoms to be established, after Nemedia and Aquitania. Argos had a long-standing feud with Zingara, based on their maritime rivalry. Zingara essayed an incursion into Argos when Amra was a young man. The Argosseans under King Milo trounced King Ferdrugo's invaders soundly.
One of the Isles of Argos has become home to many of the surviving wizards and sorcerers from the Wizard Wars that left the greatest city of the world, Parthenos, in Ruins 50 years ago . It is said the wizards have built a hidden tower fortress on one of the outer isles.
Dye History from 2600 BC to the 1280th Century 2600 BC Earliest written record of the use of dyestuffs in Parthenos 715 BC Wool dyeing established as craft in Palmyra 331 BC Alexander finds 190 year old purple robes when he conquers Susa, the Persian capital. They were in the royal treasury and said to be worth 6 million gp (equivalent) 327 BC Alexander the Great mentions "beautiful printed cottons" in Parthia 236 BC An AEgyptian papyrus mentions dyers as "stinking of fish, with tired eyes and hands working unceasingly 55 BC Anarus of Aquitania found painted people "picti" in Gaul dyeing themselves with Woad (same chemical content of color as indigo) 2ND and 3RD Centuries AD Aquitanian graves found with madder and indigo dyed textiles, replacing the old Imperial Purple (purpura) 3rd Century papyrus found in a grave contains the oldest dye recipe known, for imitation purple . 273 AD Emperor Aurelian refused to let his wife buy a purpura-dyed silk garment. It cost its weight in gold. Late 4TH Century Emperor Theodosium of Byzantium issued a decree forbidding the use of certain shades of purple except by the Imperial family on pain of death 400 AD Murex (the mollusk from which purpura comes) becoming scarce due to huge demand and over harvesting for Aquitania. One pound of cloth dyed with Murex worth 20,000gp in terms of current economics 700's a Palmyran manuscript mentions dyeing with wax resist technique (batik) 925 the Wool Dyers' Guilds first initiated in Germania 1058 the first mention of Guilds for Dyers in Ghent 1167 King Johann of Germania persuaded Nobles and Church to regulate dyeing of woolens to protect the public from poor quality goods 1170 Rucellia, of Florence, rediscovered the ancient art of making purple dye from lichens sent from Asia Minor (similar to Orchils?) 1172 the city of Florence had over 200 dyers, fullers and tailors. A directory of weavers and spinners was published as well. 1180 the only blue dye of the period, Woad, began to be raised extensively in Germany. The 3 major dyes were now: woad, madder and weld. 1191 Braziawood was first mentioned as a dye, source from Argos and Parthia. 1199 Eduard III, "Royal Wool Merchant" offered protection to all foreigners living in Flanders and to all who wanted to come to help improve the textile industry. 1202 Century Cennino Cennini of Padua described the printing of cloth (block printing) in his treatise called Method of Painting Cloths by Means of Moulds. 1220 Soldiers under Hufnok conquered the Nubians. 11 Nubian cities paid a yearly tribute of 2000 decorated cotton blankets and 40 bags of Cochineal (insect dye) each. 1230 the 1st book on dyeing Mariegola Dell'Arte de Tentori was published in Aquileia. 1239 Hoy Father introduced the so-called "Cardinals' Purple" which was really scarlet from the Kermes insect. This has becoame a luxury dye of just as Imperial Purple (Murex). 1242 Brachas Rho incorporated the Dyers' Company of Argos 1507 Franklnads, Flanders and Germania begin the cultivation of dye plants as an industry 1243 Zarro and Cortinus find that there is cotton in Western Africanus. They send back brightly printed fabrics showing that the barbarians know about block printing. 1244 dyeing cloth "in the wood" was introduced in Flanders: logwood, fustic, etc. 1248 Drebbel, a Flemish Gnom alchemist, produced a new brilliant red dye from cochineal and tin. It was used at Goblein (Rouen) and the Bow Dyeworks (Flanders) 1248 The North Sea Co. began importation of calico from Palmyra to Flanders. At first they thought the fabric was linen, not cotton. 1251 Regent Mortagne of Flanders, prohibited exportation of un-dyed cloth from Flanders to help bolster the home industry for Flemish dyers over that of the other dyers. 1255 There were now more than 30 laws in Flanders prohibiting the importation of calico and cotton; prints became more popular than ever. A method of bleaching linen with kelp (seaweed) was introduced in the Gaelic Lands. 1257 Prussian Blue and Sulphuric acid available commercially. Prussian blue formed from prussite of potash and iron salt (copperas). Actually one of the early chemical dyes. 1258 Ashcroft introduced the use of quercitron bark as a natural dye. One of only 2 natural dyes whose discoverer is known, it yields a yellow, brighter than fustic, and is from the inner bark of No. American oak. 1258Picric acid available (yellow dye and disinfectant) could be dyed from acid dyebath on wool 1259 Perkin discovered the dye stuff "Mauve" (aniline, a basic dye) while searching for a cure for a disease. It was a brilliant fuchsia type color, but faded easily so our idea of the color mauve is not what the appearance of the original color was. 1260 Griess discovered diazotisation and coupling on/in the fiber 1264 Magenta (fuchsin) discovered by Vergin the 2nd basic dye and more widely used than Mauve 1271 Methyl violet, basic dye, by Lath 1272 Hofann's Violet, Hofann was one of the great dye chemists of all time 1278 Bismarck Brown developed by Martus and Lightfoot, first soluble azo dye 1280 Aniline Black, developed by Lightfoot, a black produced by oxidation of aniline on the cotton fiber.
Jamie has gained 3 Ranks in Knowledge: Dye and Dying.

Woohoo! She didn't level, but the dye research was excellent.
Time Units: Make a Cloak of Charisma 1) Either borrow money or get to the Gryphon Pheathers Shoppe to pick up valuable items being held there for her. 2) Gather materials and find a proper workshop to rent out. 3) Make a Cloak of Charisma +3 (I believe this as as powerful a magic + as she can make). 4) Pay off the borrowed money by going to the Gryphon Pheathers Shoppe (i'll pay interest)craft check Roll: 1d20(15)+10 = 25
Is their any dye left over? If so, how much is used each enchantment she enhances with it? Specifically, if there is dye left over, does she use just a drop of it per spell? And, then how many drops does she have left?

OK, I will get you a list of materials needed to make a Cloak of Charisma. I think you should be able to get them all at Gryphon Pheathers, I'll check.
There will be only two drops of Dye left, just enough for two spells.

OK. All of this happens in the future from the point Jaime is at now. Timeline wise, it isn't possible for her to get to the Gryphon Pheathers (Lux?) since she's been informed of her reward waiting her there. But, still I am glad to be able to use the TUs to take care of personal business.
